Hi Everyone!
In this video I am going to share with you a Stuffed Pork Chops With Apple Sauce recipe.
Stuffed pork chops with apple sauce is a classic pairing of pork and apples. It is a hearty and satisfying main course that offers a delightful balance of flavors and textures. This dish can be served with various side dishes, such as roasted potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a fresh salad.
Recipe Notes:
I am using green apple in this recipe. Green apple is also commonly known as Granny Smith. You could of course substitute this with any other types of apple but personally I find green apples work very well with this recipe.
To vary the flavor of the dish, you could replace the apple stuffing with chopped pears of the same quantity. You could also replace the shredded cheddar cheese with shredded mozzarella cheese. Last, but not least, you could use raisins instead of currants.
Bake the stuffed pork chops for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden and cooked through. The cooking time will vary depending on quantity and thickness of the meat. I’m using bone-in pork chop with 1-inch (2.5cm) thickness.
I am using a fan-forced oven set to 180 degree Celsius to bake the stuffed pork chops. If you have a conventional oven, the temperature would be 200 degree Celsius.
If you prefer the apple sauce to have tiny chunks of apple to add more texture to each bite, you could skip the step where the sauce is being processed using a food processor.
INGREDIENTS FOR STUFFED PORK CHOPS
==================================
(Serves 6 Peoples)
✅️ 6 Pcs Bone-in Pork Chops (1 inch (2.5cm) thickness)
✅️ 1½ Cup Bread Crumbs
✅️ 1 Cup Apple Juice
✅️ ½ Cup Apple, peeled and finely chopped (from half apple, medium size)
✅️ ⅓ Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
✅️ ¼ Cup Currants
✅️ 30 Gm Butter, melted
✅️ ½ Tsp Salt (I use Himalayan Pink Salt)
✅️ 1 Tsp Black Pepper Coarse
INGREDIENTS FOR APPLE SAUCE
===========================
✅️ 1 Cup Apple Juice
✅️ 1 Cup Chicken Stock
✅️ ½ Apple, peeled and cut into wedges
✅️ 2 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
✅️ 20 Gm Butter, cubed
✅️ Salt and Pepper to taste
✅️ 2 Tsp Corn Flour mixed with 1 tbsp water
METHOD OF PREPARATION:
Combine bread crumbs with apple, shredded cheese, currants, half cup of apple juice and melted butter in a bowl. Mix this bread crumbs mixture thoroughly and put this aside.
Using a sharp knife, make a pocket in each pork chop by cutting a slit along the fat side. Be careful not to cut through the meat. Sprinkle with salt and pepper on both sides. Arrange the stuffed pork chops in a roasting tray and fill the pocket in each chop with about 2 to 3 tablespoons of bread crumbs mixture. Pour the remaining apple juice into the tray.
Preheat the oven to 180 degree Celsius. Bake the stuffed pork chops for 40 minutes or until golden and cooked through.
To prepare the apple sauce, heat up 1 cup of chicken stock in a small pot at LOW heat; add the rest of the sauce ingredients. Cook to the desired consistency. Remove from heat and run the sauce through a food processor until smooth. You could skip this if you prefer a chunkier sauce.
Remove the cooked stuffed pork chops from the oven and serve warm with apple sauce and steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
