"Good Food Made Easy"
About this channel
Hello everyone, I’m Norah. Welcome to our website.
My husband and I emigrated from Malaysia to Australia in 2008 and we have been living here since. I am a foodie and I love to cook. Towards the end of 2018, Joseph and myself founded Norah’s Cooking Diary with the aim of sharing all the recipes that we have collected (and tried) over the years.
Despite our Malaysian heritage, we enjoy recipes from all over the world. So in this website (and our YouTube channel), you will find Western recipes as well as recipes from countries within Southeast Asia (such as Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Japanese, Korean and of course Malaysia). Please do not think that I am here to “teach” someone how to cook. I am only here to “share” my love for good food and cooking them.
Our slogan is “Good Food Made Easy”. I would like to think that most of the recipes that we are sharing are relatively easy to prepare, without requiring exotic ingredients which are difficult to source. Where ingredients are not readily available, we would recommend the best viable substitutes.
Where feasible, we will recreate the recipes using “healthier” ingredients (such as using brown/raw sugar instead of white sugar, using organic coconut oil instead of butter, etc) in our effort to promote a healthier living. In addition, we will often alter the recipes towards healthier cooking such as avoiding deep frying when we could achieve the same result using oven baking, roasting and grilling.
The recipes that we are sharing here are enjoyed and loved by our family and friends and I hope you will feel the same. Please check out my videos and support me by subscribing to my YouTube channel. Happy cooking :-)
